“You don’t need sight to have a vision — you need courage to believe in it.”
I’m Tanya Thakur, a certified Soft Skills Trainer, Image Management Coach, and the founder of Rise ABOVE — an initiative born not just from training, but from truth.
I live with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a progressive vision condition that slowly challenged not just how I see the world, but how I saw myself. For years, I battled through isolation, self-doubt, and the unspoken pain of feeling invisible in a world that wasn’t built for me. But in that silence, something powerful awakened — a calling to rise above my circumstances and help others do the same.
That’s when Rise ABOVE came to life.
What started as a personal healing journey has now grown into a social movement, designed to help low-vision individuals reclaim confidence, dignity, and identity — from the inside out. We blend soft skills training, image management, and emotional resilience with deep empathy and inclusivity.

Today, Rise ABOVE serves as:
An empowerment platform for young people with vision impairment to own their presence.
A bridge to government schemes and accessibility resources.
A training partner for schools, colleges, and companies working toward true inclusion.
A campaigner for confidence, not charity.

We don’t just teach confidence — we embody it. From workshops on image and presence, to bootcamps for personality development, to tech + self-worth fairs, Rise ABOVE is creating a new standard:

Disability does not define destiny. Vision isn’t just about eyes — it’s about belief.

And this is just the beginning.

If you’ve ever felt unseen, unheard, or unsure — you’re not alone. I see you. I hear you. And together, we’ll rise.
